Dash Slim Elastic Wallet 4.0

from 1046 reviewsExcellent craftsmanship. Works well as a front pocket wallet. Has everything I need in a wallet. Needs a stronger magnet.

If, heaven forbid, the world ever suffers some kind of cataclysm, I think the only things left will be a few cockroaches, Keith Richards, and this dash wallet. Its replacement is the first wallet I’ve ever bought out of desire rather than need. They aren’t pretty when they age, but wow are they well built. This thing has travelled with me for years in all kinds of insanity and no signs of breakage. I’m retiring it to hold some overspill reward cards in my glove box. May the new one last as long, and be just as pretty when I need another. Seriously good value for the money and an excellent design that holds all my cards and bills in a super thin form factor. Totally love it. Well done, folks.

I am always on the hunt for the next streamlined, compact, Do-it-all wallet that can somehow hold cash and 5-7 cards or so. Bonus if it has magnetic clasp keeping things tidy and pop-out cards that include RFID protection…..the Bando 4.0 Utility wallet check marked all the above! I am quite surprised how affordable this wallet is and appears to be made out of quality material that should last for years. So far I believe this wallet is perfect for my everyday use. If I HAD to pick some improvements on it, I would love to have a magnetic clasp integrated along the edge of the ID bifold so there would be no need to have the magnetic clasp over the top….I know it’s advertised to give that extra protection of a card possibly falling out, but the cards are very well held in position inside the card holder….in fact I could not get any of my cards out during a vigorous shake test, and I still have room for one more card. Plus my OCD was kicking in and the magnetic clasp not aligning straight with the magnet in the front gave that crooked look and low key bugged me, even though it is doing it does not affect functionality. Lastly, I would LOVE to see this wallet in leather or any sort of vegan/synthetic leather at least, I’d buy another in a heartbeat!

I anticipated the arrival of my Bando wallet and when it arrived, I was not disappointed. It looked just as advertised. After figuring out how and where I wanted to place my cards I was completely satisfied with my purchase. I did see advertisements on Facebook for similar wallets at twice the price. For $32, I felt that I had gotten my money's worth. I think the gel holder on the elastic band on the back is a nice feature. However, I would suggest reinforcing the elastic band with a canvas type of material as the current material tends to show wear rather quickly. Also, another suggested feature would be to implement a thin, built in clip on the inside, opposite the transparent ID pocket, to hold a couple of business cards. The pop-up action using the trigger on the bottom is easy and reliable. If the wallet itself could be made just slightly thinner, it would be that much more of a bonus. However, I'm not sure how that would be possible, especially given the suggested improvements. All in all, I enjoy my Bando 4.0 Wallet and I have suggested it to my friends who still carry around their old, nylon, 1980's billfolds , with a faded Billabong logo across the front.

I had my last dash wallet for several years, bought right after they came out. Glad the same basic slim wallet was still available. Great quality and love the design.

After using the Ridge wallet for a year or two, I went back to the Dash Wallet 4.0 which I had used for many years prior. The Dash wallet is just far superior…
It feels thinner in the pocket as it contours better. It has more known cards quickly accessible. It’s easier to get cards out of it. The money pocket in practice holds bills and receipts better than the ridge pocket clip. And unexpectedly, the Dash Wallet held up better. My Ridge lost a screw after 2 years. The Dash Wallet lasted me nearly 4 years.

Love this wallet, so slim. I have tried other slim wallets but none compare to this one.

I always keep my eyes open for interesting slim wallets. I've carried at Allette, Strapo, Open Sea Gun Deck and a Dango bifold the last couple of years. They were all good for different reasons. I just had this wallet delivered and can't believe how much I like it, especially considering the price. It is definitely my favorite to date. Super slim and functional.

I’m in the UK but parcel arrived within 2 weeks with no issues in customs. Very happy with the wallet plenty of storage. I’ve got 5 cards in the flip up section which I feel is the maximum. My driver’s licence fits perfectly in the clear section at the front. The section behind the money band is a little tight but I’m sure will loosen with use. Overall very pleased 😀 👍

Discovered them on Kickstarter years ago. Been my go to wallet since. My current one I got before the pandemic, still very serviceable and hard wearing. I wait untill they have special offers and buy multiples to give out as gifts.

I have the bando 3.0 and now 4.0

The passport wallet worked well for me in its maiden voyage last week. Also I love Dash products because they are animal-friendly (faux leather). Keep up the good work!

This was my 3rd Dash wallet, I supported the 3 and the 4 on Kickstarter and after using the 4 I decided to buy another one for future use. 3 was not right for me but I liked the concept and changes so much I bought 4 without hessitation.
My thoughts:
Pros
- Dash was responsive for my 2 Kickstarters and the fulfillment for this one was crazy fast, less than 5 business days from order to door step.
- The cash band is a decent size. I also have a premium "plate" wallet from the brand known for Youtube ads and their band hold 2-5 bills, the Dash 3 and 4 can hold 5-10 bills without issue.
- The overall design is a good balance of minimalist to functional. If you are a hardcore minimalist this is not the wallet for you, I would recommend the Dash 3. For those that want a big reduction to size while still maintaining function this wallet is great.
- The ID Flap and magnetic latch are great features that streamline use and give peace of mind.
- The lever design is very useful.
Cons
- The ID flap is a little too clouded. It's not a problem with old school IDs but the evermore common REALid cards are more muted and don't show through as well.
- The build quality of the outside material doesn't look great. IMHO it is within what I'd expect at this price point so it was not a problem for me.
- The lever takes getting used to. if you overload it cards can fall out or get stuck. This is where you need to focus on what cards you really need. Also, the latch helps a little with this. I've heard of other issues but have not experienced them.
I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to purchase from Dash.

For 10$ this wallet have all that I need! Coin space, key, and the fast pull tab with card organizer!

I like this wallet. It was exactly what I needed.
